5 steps to get your priorities at home and at work

Run a successful home business is an effort and time. This doubly true for work at home moms in that we are responsible not only for the success of our business but also for our family. We need autonomy, self-motivation and discipline ourselves to succeed in both areas.
When you run a home business, and it is easy to let phone calls and e-mails and paperwork keep you attached, making you feel that you do not have time to take a break or spend time quality time with your family. You've probably noticed that you spend a little time as you want on your computer or on the phone. You can see your children to act in an attempt to get your attention. Perhaps you feel that this is not a dream of working from home than you imagine. Started with such noble intentions, but maybe the excitement of success in your business and make you lose sight of the real reason why you do what you do every day. Happens to many of us, but do not worry, help on the way.

Here are five ideas to prioritize your life and your business:

1. Be honest - you probably did not start your work at home career to climb the "ladder" to work in your own home. Chances are you started your business with the best intentions - to be able to be home with your children, to contribute financially to the family, or simply to spend some money of your choice. Spend some time in prayer and ask the Lord to show you things that must change.

Take a moment and ask yourself honestly how you dealt with the time commitment of owning a business:

• Do you spend a lot of time on the phone, computer, etc.?
• Your children spend more time than usual in front of the TV?
• Do not hold your children because of the pressures of your business?
• Do not worry about your business - to the extent that distract you when you're with your family?

2. Make a list - sit down and write a list of things you see that you want to modify. This can be a list of things you can do differently to reduce the time you spend on your business, or a list of ways that you can "get rid of tension," so that you can deal gently with your family .

3. Log your time - buy a notebook or create spreadsheets that you can use to record the time you spend on your business every day. Make a column for each day in the upper part of the description of the half-hour increments on the side. Whenever you sit down at your desk and write "IN" in the box that corresponds to the time and day. Whenever you leave your desk (or complete the task), and fill in the appropriate box the word "OUT".

At the end of the week, the total hours everyday until you spent on work assignments. Are you surprised or where you think you are? This can be a real eye-opener and show you in black and white if your priorities have become off-piste. A note for your private time you spend on email and things that are not billable.

4. Take a break - if you get to the end of the week and record your time, I am in a state of shock, and it is time to take a break. If you usually work through the weekend and make it a point to take this week off. Stop your e-mail, turn off the phone rang and closed the door of your office. 5. Event Planning - Now that you are ready to make a change in your routine, why not plan activity once a week? This can have a picnic with your child or just something as simple as the allocation of time to make cakes together.

If possible, find another work at home mother and hold each other accountable to keep your new tables. Make a game weekly appointment where your children can spend time together - you can talk business if necessary or decide to "any speech activities authorized" the time of the discussion.
